Reverse Signs of Aging with Facial Exercise

by Jen Hopkins

Muscles on the face lose elasticity over time thus the aged appearance and wrinkles start to develop. Neck and throat muscles on the other hand shows quicker aging than the face which makes them more challenging to treat. With the presence of these unwanted folds of tired looking skin, exercises are developed as to assist in the toning these muscles.

Here are suggested facial exercises which bring about the natural glow of the skin.

1. Sit upright and tilt the head back looking at the ceiling. Keep the lips closed and then start a chewing movement. Feel the muscles working in the neck and throat area and be amazed of the results. Do the procedure for 20 times.

2.Sit upright and tilt head back looking at the ceiling. Keep lips closed and relaxed. Start puckering the lips together in a kiss and stretch the kiss as if one is trying to kiss the ceiling. Keep the lips puckered for 10 counts. Bring the head back to its normal position and make 5 sets of the procedure.

3. While sitting upright with the head looking at the ceiling, keep the lips closed and relaxed. Then move the lower lip over the top lip as far as possible keeping it there until the count of 5. Relax and repeat the procedure 5 times.

4. While sitting upright, move the face forward and keep the lips together. Separate the teeth by dropping the jaw and pushing it forward until the count of 10. Return with the starting position and repeat 5 times.

5. Sit upright and move face forward. Keep the lips together. Separate the teeth by dropping the jaw and pushing the jaw forward until the count of 10. Bring back to the starting position and repeat the procedure 5 times.

The chin, neck and throat area is difficult to treat. But with regular facial exercise, a smoother and firmer neck plus a compact chin will make one look years younger.
