Treat Mild Acne and Pimples with Home Remedies

by Sabina Carvalho

All around the world, people suffer from minor to mayor acne problems. As a consequence, there is a large market for the treatment of acne problems. Even though there are many OTC drugs for acne problems, there are other alteratives.

Home remedies and natural treatments have recently become a popular choice for acne sufferers. As with any treatment, some home remedies are just myths but some are very effective. In this text, however, we will focus on the basic causes of acne and then on how to treat it effectively with natural products.

What factors lead to acne?

In essence is a skin condition where the skin pores become clogged. These pores lead to inflamed (pimples and zits) and non-inflamed lesions (blackheads and whiteheads). What leads to the clogging of the skin pores?

The primary answer is genetics. If both parents have acne, there is a 75% chance of their children having it. Other factors such as stress, sun exposure, seasonal changes and climate can worsen an already existing acne problem. Tests have shown that working women are the most prone to acne breakouts because they lead high stress lives and tend to use more pore-clogging makeup.

Home Remedies for Acne

There is a wide variety of over-the-counter drugs available for acne problems. However, there is something to be said for natural acne skin care. Here are a few alternatives.

Grated Cucumber: Remedy 1

Cucumber is one of the most valuable home remedies for acne treatment. Grate a cucumber and apply it to your eyes, face and neck for about 20 minutes. It will soothe your skin, reduce swelling and, if used regularly, it will eliminate blackheads and clogged pores.

Aspirin Paste: Remedy 2

Aspirin is a useful and inexpensive pimple treatment. Place one or two drops of water on an aspirin tablet, form a paste and apply it directly to the blemish. Leave the paste on for a couple of hours and see how it dries up.

Orange Peels: Remedy 3

Another inexpensive home remedy is orange peels. Pound an orange peel with a little bit of water against a hard surface (a mortar and pestle work well). Leave the pounded peels on the affected areas for about twenty minutes.

These home remedies are for mild acne and occasional pimples. More severe forms of acne require professional treatment. Chronic acne is a serious issue and should be treated with care.

You can safely deal with occasional outbreaks and, by consequence, acne scars by using natural acne treatment remedies. They will help with mild acne and keep your skin healthy. Try out a natural acne treatment remedy to see which one gives you the best results.
